The international team met in Cairo (with Indian colleagues joining online) to discuss the preliminary analysis of our three country cases, start a comparative analysis, and plan our publications and dissemination strategy. On Thursday morning (3 July), our Sudan partners (CEDEJ Khartoum, DDRA), and steering group member, joined us to discuss our Sudan analysis.  Comments included the importance of diaspora and solidarity in providing aid, the ‘localisation’ of research and aid, and how the development of our research methods in a context of violent conflict warrants a paper on its own.
